I have had this new rod for a few months but never really talked about it…. This is my favorite rod and is a really sweet trout bum… this is my 2nd scott rod and i love it…. the ross evolution works wonders with it and has an amazingly smooth drag……The SA GPX Nymph Line is amazing and can throw nice loops with it. the orange front of the line is great for czech nymphing indicator.

Really loving the fall right now… has some great fishing BUT BE CAREFUL AND WATCH OUT FOR THE REDDs AND DO NOT FISH THEM!!!!

Last Saturday i headed up to the gunpowder again!!! It is such a cool fishery i is a little hard to fish because they are wild fish and are very smart but they are some of the most colorful brown trout you have ever seen! They have lots of blue on them!!!!

Anyways… I arrived at about 2:00pm and checked out what way happening in the fly shop and at the river and bought some more fly tying materials(you can never have enough!)  I went to fish the Masemore Road section where there is a nice long flat that holds some nice fish but are UBER hard to catch because they have so long to look at your fly…. I only got one taker early in the day on a size 16 caddis on 6x…. no other takers though! I went downstream to practice my Czech nymping a new tactic i am learning that is used often in competition fishing and all the European powers use it! I was fishing a little deep pool that was running fairly well! and hooked into one fish that seemed a decent size but got off(they all do lol). So it was nearing 5pm and the sun was going behind the mountains so i went back to fish the flat right in front of the parking lot to see if i could get any fish to rise! I had a few rises to my size 16 caddis but could not get solid hook sets. Then it seemed they were rising to some midges (possibly tricos but i think a little late for them) i tied on 7x with a griffis gnat with no takes so i switch back to the caddis seeing a few in the air. I really needed to go so i decided what the heck and shot a 60 ft. cast upstream and sure enough i got a rise and a solid hookset! now i am dealing with an 8inch fish with like 60 ft. of line out. I was pretty much dragging the fish while trying to pick up the line fast. I got him in and he was full of fall colors. Wish i got a photo but i did not…  sorry……

‘Monster Shark’ Chomps Into Great White
9:54am UK, Tuesday October 27, 2009

Huw Borland, Sky News Online

A giant shark that could be up to 20ft long has sent shockwaves across Australian beaches after a great white was nearly bitten in half.

A stunning picture shows a 10ft predator thrashing about with two massive chunks missing on either side of its body, off the Queensland coast.

Experts said its rival may be 20ft (about six metres) long, judging by the size of the huge bites.
