Tie in Wire. Cover wire totally with thread

Wrap wire to front of the hook. this is to get the midge patter a little larger

Wrap wire back to the bend of the hook. This will also help get the fly down

Cover the led with your thread. make sure you can’t see any thread

Wrap the wire up the shank of the hook. Tie of and hook eye. Whip Finish. Apply Head Cement. The Fly is Finished.

NOTE: Some of the best midge fishing occurs in the winter and fish are often sluggish and feeding on or near the bottom. To get the fly down use a dropper rig with a attractor nymph above to help get this pattern down. Some good attractor nymphs that i like to use are BH Prince Nymphs,BH Zug Bugs, Weighted BH Czech Nymphs, BH Phesant Tail, BH, San Juan Worm, Valadi Worm. And any of your favorite nymph patterns in larger sizes with weight to help get this pap get this pattern on.
