Dubing: Golden Brown Ice Dub
Wing: Silver Phesant
Tie in thread. Keep minimal thread near hook eye. important for later
Apply Dubbing: Put a small pinch of ice dub on thread and spin it on the thread IN ONLY ONE DIRECTION. Apply dubbing wax if prefered.
Take feather and strip the bottom bare. like in the picture
Tie in like in the picture.
Attach Hackle Plier to the tip of the feather. wrap around the hook shank 1 time. secure the material. tie off. whip finished. fly complete.
NOTE: fish fly as preferred. my favorite way to fish a soft hackle is to cast down and across the stream and let string across. use a pulse return if desired. Good pattern to use as an emerger. Match the color thread and feather to aquatic insect that you are trying to match. Enjoy!
